The future political status for Guam has been a topic of concern over the past several years. This project's scope would like to align the concerns for status options with the information pertaining to each one in order to freely educate the public all in one website. It is imperative that the students of the people of Guam are educated with enough knowledge to evaluate and form their opinions on the future of Guam and its relationship to the United States.
Our goal is to educate the people of Guam on the different political status options that Guam could potentially attain. We want to provide a resource that people can utilize to find free, unbiased basic information on the status options in order to create their own personal opinion on which route they believe Guam should take. The options covered in our website are full independence, free association, statehood (integration with an existing nation) or status quo, unincorporated territory. We have also discussed how each status is achieved along with current examples. We will also incorporate a simple break down of how each status differs from one to another.
We also wanted to incorporate an ongoing discussion/forum in this website related to the matter of political status options. This way the public would be able to freely engage their opinions and concerns for Guam’s future and current political status. Our ultimate goal is to provide the public with a convenient database in which they can find all the information they might need in one place in order to form their own opinion.
